When multiple students write the teacher can join in and make suggetions for editing the same document simultaneously. The changes are instantly reflected on the students screen.  Assign A Day: Teacher-created online calendars to manage classes and assignments

Assign A Day is an online classroom teacher calendar designed for teachers to make daily assignments to students. It’s a free service that allows teachers  to create and manage y their classroom by posting and sharing online assignments with students. The website is easy to use and is a great way for teachers to post current and upcoming tasks, study tips, test dates and long term projects. Teachers create a calendar for each of their classes and add assignments for the students to view. Students view their teachers' calendars in order to see assignments for classes they might have missed, or to get an overview of the class before they attend. Digital Tools that Support English Language Learners

WordAhead is a vocabulary development tool that demonstrates a selected word through a short animated film which expands upon the words definition.  The website provides not only the definition of the word, but your students can see a video illustration and hear how the word is used in different sentences.

 

The beta testing website has a very complete vocabulary development section of 600 words with words added daily. You can use this site by not only uploading selected word videos but also allows for a vocabulary widget to be posted on your own website. The vocabulary development videos, flash cards and dictionary become beneficial when helping students develop their vocabulary or when a lesson developer needs visual and auditory support for ELL Language Learners.

 

Teacher's or student's can also create & manage their own word lists in the Study Room  by selecting words from the website. Teachers can incorporate  multiple list for their classroom and create study groups. Vocabulary list can be  modified by adding or deleting words that students have learned.

 

This website has a collection of short, simple and fun multimedia clips and an audio narration to correctly pronounce, define, and provide examples of difficult English words. The videos are entirely appropriate for middle and high school students. Teacher's can subscribe to receive a Word of the Day video from WordAhead.
